About Kabalega Running Club.

The Kabalega Running Club is a monthly community-driven fitness initiative inspired by the enduring spirit of Omukama Kabalega. An initiative that strengthens community engagement in the lead-up to the annual Kabalega Independence Run, the club brings together runners of all ages and backgrounds to build momentum, promote wellness, and strengthen community ties throughout the year.
Organised by Kabalega Foundation and partners, this weekly activity is more than just a fitness routine — it’s a journey of honoring history, celebrating independence, and fostering a culture of active living in Uganda and beyond.
Whether you are a seasoned runner or just getting started, Kabalega Running Club welcomes you to lace up, show up, and make every stride count — for health, heritage, and community impact.

Our Goals.

At Kabalega Running Club, every stride carries purpose. Rooted in the legacy of Omukama Kabalega and powered by community spirit, our goals go beyond fitness — they speak to a movement of health, heritage, and positive community impact.
1. Promoting a Culture of Wellness. Encourage regular physical activity among individuals and communities by providing a consistent, inclusive space for fitness and personal growth.
2. Celebrating and Preserving Heritage. Keep alive the story and spirit of Omukama Kabalega by connecting each run to values of resilience, independence, and national pride.
3. Strengthening Community Bonds. Foster unity through shared experiences, encouraging dialogue, collaboration, and mutual support across regions and age groups.
4. Building Momentum for the Kabalega Independence Run.
Serve as a lead-up initiative that prepares participants, increases engagement, and amplifies the mission of the Kabalega Independence Run year-round.
5. Promoting Social Impact.
Use running as a platform to address broader social goals — from mental health awareness to gender equality, environmental consciousness, and civic responsibility.

Why We Run / Our Impact.

We don’t just run. We remember. We rebuild. We rise. At Kabalega Running Club, every run is a step forward — not just for ourselves, but for our communities, our heritage, and our future.
